GRYC STANDING COMMITTEES

 

Competition and Participation Committee

Committee Membership: Commodore - chairperson - Race Committee - Fleet Captains

The purpose of the committee is to make recommendations for trophy policy for each season, review and, if desired, offer suggestions regarding race procedure or management, Address any concerns of fleets regarding racing or race participation. The committee chairperson is the Commodore.

 

Finance Committee

Committee Membership: Minimum of two voting members

The purpose of the committee is to fulfill the requirements of article X (Financial Records Audit) of the Club by-laws.

 

Long Range Planning Committee

Committee Membership: Minimum of 7 members with a majority being voting members

The purpose of the committee is to determine the needs of the Club’s facilities for the future and what actions will be needed to reach them. The committee Chairperson reports to the Board Members responsible for House and Grounds.

 

Promotion Committee

Committee Membership: Minimum of three members with the majority being voting members

The purpose of the committee is to recommend actions that will promote membership in the Club. The committee chair reports to the Board Member responsible for Membership and Promotion.

 

Standing Committee Guidelines

The purpose of the committee is to give members an opportunity to be involved in club planning. Committee members must be members in good standing. Committees should change membership on an ongoing basis.

 

Each committee will keep minutes and will present an annual written report of their work to the Board of Directors by October 1st of each year. The reports should contain a summary of their year’s activity and present any suggestions, along with supporting materials, to the Board. The committee reports will be available to the membership. The Board of Directors will make decisions concerning action on recommendations.
